Solicitors’ firm chooses hosted system for 150 mailboxes

Lyndos.net has provided a hosted email system for the Consumer Credit Litigation Solicitors. The system provided virtual mail boxes to the company’s 150 solicitors and other office staff. This is an example of ‘cloud computing’ which is becoming increasingly popular among companies wanting flexible systems with minimal capital expenditure.

Instead of the emails being stored physically on users’ PCs, they are delivered straight from an external data centre owned and operated by Lyndos.net. Mike Hall, Chief Operating Officer for Catalyst Management Group, which owns Lyndos.net, said: “Companies are moving away from buying their own hardware, because technology moves so fast that it is out of date as soon as it comes out of the box.

“A hosted solution is much more flexible and can be constantly upgraded with no stress or capital expenditure.

“We can also simply add new features quickly as they are needed, rather than having to upgrade the whole system.”

Lyndos.net has ample redundancy built into its data centres in London and Manchester, meaning mailboxes can simply be migrated to a different server if one piece of hardware fails or needs maintenance, giving no interruption in service for the user.

Tim Varley, of ICTS Systems, which provides the IT to Consumer Credit Litigation Solicitors, said: “A hosted solution means we have someone to fix any problems that occur with one phone call.

“We have been very happy working with Lyndos.net.”
