Cartel Client Review chooses hosted phone systemOne of the UK’s largest financial claims management companies has taken the unusual step of renting a hosted phone system. Cartel Client Review, which helps customers challenge unfair bank or credit card charges and unenforceable contracts, has ensured greater flexibility and saved on the capital expenditure involved in installing its own new phone system. Lyndos.net, which hosts the 250-handset phone system, said it was the first time it had known such a large organisation to choose a hosted phone system. Lyndos.net owns and operates the system from its own data centres in Manchester and London. It has added complex bespoke configurations that allow Cartel Client Review to control call flows and to route calls around its call centre and from third parties. Mike Hall, Chief Operating Officer for Catalyst Management Group, which owns Lyndos.net, said: “Buying and installing their own system would have been very expensive and it would have to be replaced as the company grew. "A hosted solution is much more flexible as we can simply add more handsets as they are needed. We can also add new features quickly as they become available, rather than having to upgrade the whole system." "Companies are moving away from buying their own hardware, because technology moves so fast that as soon as you have bought a new computer, server or phone system, it is already out of date." "A hosted solution, known as ‘cloud computing’, can be constantly upgraded with no stress or capital expenditure." “Cartel Client Review is a dynamic company that is changing and expanding all the time, and we have been able to provide the flexibility it needs.” Lyndos.net also arranged Cartel Client Review’s internet provision and installed a high-end fibre into its Manchester headquarters to cater for its 4,000 field-based representatives logging into its system. Tim Varley, of ITTS Systems, which provides all the IT to Cartel Client Review, said: “With the traditional system we used to have there were between 120 and 200 phone lines coming into our building just for the phone calls. Now all we need is one internet connection to provide a much better service. “It’s much more reactive to what we need and we can simply increase our bandwidth when we need more capacity. In the old days, we would have to call BT out every time we needed more phone lines." “We are now able to make complex call routings which we would simply not have been able to do ourselves. We also have the fall-back that someone else will fix it any time of the night or day if we have any problems." “We are very happy working with Lyndos.net. They are a joy to deal with.” |
